Christopher P. Lenzo is a partner in the law firm of Green, Savits & Lenzo, LLC. He represents employees in employment law matters, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, trial litigation, and appellate litigation of claims of discrimination, harassment, whistleblower retaliation , wrongful discharge, failure to accommodate disabilities, family and medical leave violations, breach of contract, and wage and hour violations. He also mediates employment disputes and conducts workplace investigations.
In his practice, Mr. Lenzo has litigated several reported cases, some of which involved landmark decisions. He and his colleague Claudia Reis won a $1.549 million jury verdict in a retaliation case against New Jersey Transit after a month-long trial during 2009.
For 2013, Best Lawyers in America designated Mr. Lenzo as Lawyer of the Year in the field of Employment Law-Individuals for the Newark Metropolitan Area based on votes cast by Mr. Lenzo’s peers in the Labor and Employment Law bar. Since 2006, Mr. Lenzo has been included in the list of Best Lawyers in America in the practice area of labor and employment law. He has also been included in the Thomson Reuters list of New Jersey Super Lawyers in the areas of labor and employment law and plaintiffs’ employment litigation since 2005.*
In March 2013, Mr. Lenzo was Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney. That distinction is attained based on references by judges and other attorneys, and through passing a written examination.
Mr. Lenzo has served on the Employment Law Subcommittee of the New Jersey Supreme Court Model Civil Jury Charge Committee. He also mediates employment law cases for the American Arbitration Association and serves as a Master for the Sidney Reitman Employment Law American Inn of Court.
Mr. Lenzo writes and lectures on employment law frequently for such organizations as the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the National Employment Lawyers Association/New Jersey, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America – New Jersey, New Jersey Lawyer – The Magazine, the New Jersey Law Journal, the New Jersey Labor and Employment Law Quarterly, the Essex County Bar Association, the Somerset County Bar Association, the Practising Law Institute, the Council on Education in Management, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Human Resources Advisory Group of North Jersey.
