On June 26, 2010Glen Savits was elected Vice-President of the National Employment Lawyers Association ("NELA"). NELA is the largest bar association of attorneys who represent plaintiffs in employment issues and, with its affiliates, has over 3,000 members nationwide.

On June 4, 2010, Claudia Reis spoke about the Supreme Court's recent decision making clear that post-employment retaliation is unlawful under the Law Against Discrimination at the "Hot Tips in Labor and Employment Law" seminar for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

On June 4, 2010, Christopher Lenzo spoke about legal claims that employees can bring when they are fired for out-of-work activities at the "Hot Tips in Labor and Employment Law" seminar for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

In May 2010Glen Savits gave a telephone seminar on the employees' rights in the workplace under the federal Americans With Disabilities Act and the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination for the New Jersey Metro Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

On May 21, 2010, Christopher Lenzo participated on a panel that presented a seminar entitled "How Social Media and Networking Websites and Technology Are Changing the Employment Landscape" for the New Jersey State Bar Association and New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education at the Annual Meeting of the Bar Association.

On April 22, 2010, Claudia Reis cross-examined a witness during a mock trial of a whistleblower retaliation claim at the American Association for Justice's Boardwalk Seminar.

In March 2010Jon Green, Glen Savits and Christopher Lenzo were once again selected as New Jersey Super Lawyers in the fields of Employment & Labor Law and Employment Litigation for Plaintiff's through a poll of New Jersey lawyers conducted by New Jersey Monthly magazine and the publisher Law & Politics. The New Jersey Super Lawyers are featured in the April 2010 edition of New Jersey Monthly.*

In March 2010Glen Savits moderated a panel that discussed the obligations of the employee, the employer and the union under the interactive process provisions of the federal Americans With Disabilities Act. The seminar took place at the ABA Mid-Winter Conference of the Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee of the ABA Labor and Employment Section in San Diego, California.

In March 2010, Claudia Reis was once again selected as a Rising Star in the fields of Employment and Labor Law and Employment Litigation for Plaintiffs in New Jersey Monthly Magazine.  Ms. Reis was selected as a Rising Star in a poll of New Jersey lawyers conducted by New Jersey Monthly Magazine and the publisher Law & Politics.  Only 2.5% of the attorneys in the State of New Jersey are named as Rising Stars.  This is the fifth year in a row in which Ms. Reis was selected for this honor.*

On January 29, 2010, Claudia Reis became a partner of the firm.

On October 8, 2009, Christopher Lenzo participated on a panel that presented a seminar entitled "Current Issues Involving Non-Compete Agreements, Protection of Trade Secrets and Duty of Loyalty" for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

In April 2009, Jon Green tried a breach of contract case on behalf of a high level executive who was formerly employed by the shipping company, Ceres terminals, Inc. The plaintiff alleged that he was involuntarily forced to retire in March 2006 and did not receive severance payments under the company’s severance plan and his 2004 bonus under the company’s executive bonus plan. The case was tried to a Hudson County jury in Jersey City, N.J. before Judge Barry Sarkisian and settled on the last day of trial for an undisclosed amount.

On February 24 and 25, 2009, after a month-long trial, a jury sitting in the Superior Court of New Jersey for Essex County in Newark unanimously found that New Jersey Transit Police Lieutenant Theresa Frizalone was denied four separate promotions to Captain in retaliation for her complaints of gender discrimination.  The jury awarded $339,000 in compensatory damages for lost pension and retiree medical benefits, $210,000 in compensatory damages for emotional distress, and $1,000,000 in punitive damages against New Jersey Transit, for a total of $1,549,000 in damages.  With a post-trial award of attorneys’ fees, prejudgment interest on the emotional distress damages award, and a grossing up of the economic damages award for adverse income tax consequences, the total award will likely exceed $2,000,000.   Christopher Lenzo and Claudia Reis of Green, Savits & Lenzo in Morristown, New Jersey successfully tried the case for Lt. Frizalone.
